THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This kitchen Plaskon radio and clock combination was manufactured by Jewel Radio of New York, NY. Jewel made very innovative post war radios, and some televisions in the early 1950's, but went out of business shortly after. This is a rather unique design, in that it is both a clock and a radio, but the clock does not control the radio function, and it has no alarm function. It gives you the time, and lets you listen to the radio together. The case is made out of ivory Plaskon, and has no damage. The Jewel logo on the front lights up when the radio is turned on. These clocks never had a second hand, and it is working and keeping decent time. The radio is a four-tuber with a wire for its antenna. It has been checked by a pro, everything replaced that was needed, and is playing well picking up all my local AM stations clearly with its antenna wire out. The knobs are original. It was called a Pin-Up because it was hung on the wall of post war kitchens. It originally sold for $39.95, quite a bit of money for 1947. About 9"H x 8"W x 3-1/2"D.
