THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

The International Radio Corporation (IRC) was founded in 1931 in Ann Arbor, MI by Charles Albert Verschoor, who had begun making radios in 1931. The IRC Kadette Autime, introduced in 1938, was the first mass-produced clock radio. It is in beautiful condition with the burled walnut case in original condition. The clock has been checked by a clock professional and is keeping good time quietly. It's a spin start, and the stem to get it started is one of the three stems on the back, just a small quick twist to the right, gets it working. The clock runs continually when plugged in. I have not tested the alarm function. I suggest you use your iPhone to get up each morning. The radio turns on with its original switch on the back lower left. The switch is RADIO(left), OFF(up), and ALARM(right). The radio is playing clearly, tuning in all my local stations without any problems, much better with an extended antenna wire (included). Two original knobs, volume and tuning, This radio is a part of the history of radio in the USA.
