Zenith 920 (1950)
(Bakelite tube table radio w/FM)

Zenith 920 (1950)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This AM/FM radio is a historical find. This Bakelite radio has two FM bands! Yes, you did read that right; this radio has a FM band that goes from 42-48 and a band that goes from 88-108. In 1950, the FCC adopted 42-50 MHz as the U.S. FM band, and many U.S. manufacturers built expensive radios specifically for this band. While RCA and Hazeltine were dueling in court (with RCA winning), Zenith knew that many on-air stations in the 42-50 MHz range would stay, so they built these dual and transitional FM band radios. The radio has been fully restored electronically, and the cabinet has been re-painted its original white. 14-1/2"W x 8"H x 7-1/2"D.
