Silvertone 4206 (1954)
(plastic tube table radio)

Silvertone 4206 (1954)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This Silvertone AM-FM table radio has a beautiful ivory Plaskon cabinet in superb condition, with no cracks, chips, or significant scratches. The cabinet walls are thick and durable, allowing this radio to survive in great shape. The transparent dial window is edge lighted when set to AM, giving a nice visual effect under low lighting conditions. When set to FM, the rotating dial/pointer is backlit, with the FM scale illuminated in red along with an "FM" indicator (see dial closeup picture). The eight tube chassis has been thoroughly reconditioned for "good as new" operation and reliability, with all new capacitors, a strong set of tubes, a full sweep generator alignment for both AM and FM, rebuilt AM IF transformers, and a new polarized power cord. Sensitivity (both AM and FM) and sound quality are excellent. This is a quality radio with a transformer-type power supply, a 6-inch speaker, and a 6V6 audio output stage for plenty of undistorted bass. The headphone jack on the side was added by some previous owner; it is a clean and neat installation (not a hack job). I will convert it to an audio input suitable for iPod, CD player, or turntable if desired for no extra charge. All cabinet parts original. 13-1/2"W x 7"H x 8"D.
