Hallicrafters T-64 12" Porthole TV (1949)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Check out that big round screen! "Porthole" sets have a wonderful "early high tech" look, and are favorites among TV collectors for their completely round screens. This Hallicrafters set was sold as a chassis unit for custom installation with either a 10" or 12" picture tube into a cabinet of the customer's choice. This one has a 12" screen and what appears to be a commercially made cabinet. Interesting design quirks of this set include the pushbutton tuner (unique to sets manufactured by Hallicrafters) and a toggle switch (to the left of the buttons) to switch between a "zoom" setting that fills the round screen, and a "normal" setting that displays more of the picture, but leaves a black bar at top and bottom of the screen. This set has had a full electrical restoration, including replacement of electrolytic and paper caps, new resistors where needed, a strong set of tubes, and a full video and audio alignment. Picture quality is very nice. I can advise you on how to connect this set to suitable signal sources so you can enjoy watching it. Cabinet has original finish, and knobs are original. An affordable early TV to add to your collection. 19-3/4"H x 17"W x 20-1/4"D.
