| This Bakelite Zenith AM/FM table radio must have been stored away for most of its life, because its original Bakelite shine is exquisite. The attractive illuminated triple-arch transparent tuning dial provides a nice visual effect in a darkened room. You'll notice the FM band is labeled "FM 100" on this radio, indicating it is from the very earliest days of the modern FM band, shortly after the transition from the earlier "FM 45" band. After a thorough electrical restoration, this radio pulls in stations on both FM and AM just like a brand new radio, and the 8-inch speaker puts out wonderful sound quality. The knob in the center of the dial is a tone control. Electrical restoration included all new capacitors, a strong set of tubes, a full AM/FM alignment, and safety improvements with a new polarized power cord and switch circuit modification. You should have no qualms about using this radio for everyday listening. 14-1/2"W x 8-3/4"H x 8-1/2"D. |
