Arvin 618 "Phantom Maid" AM-SW (1937)
(wood tube table radio w/SW/Aux or BT)

Arvin 618 "Phantom Maid" AM-SW (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!
A ONE-DAY WONDER!

Arvin's "Phantom Maid" marketing name for this radio is a bit of a head-scratcher. Regardless of what they called it, it's a very attractive table radio with contrasting inlaid maple stripes in the walnut veneered cabinet. The six-tube chassis has excellent reception on both AM and SW and plenty of volume. The original 8-inch speaker is in perfect condition and puts out good quality sound. A brand new bright eye tube has been installed so you can enjoy the visual effect. The lighted dial is multi-colored with green and yellow band markings and red branding and pointer. The grille cloth is original; the knobs this radio came with might not be original, but are solid walnut and look good on this radio. Electrical restoration included replacement of all paper and electrolytic capacitors, new resistors where needed, a strong set of tubes, and a full RF/IF alignment for perfect reception. A new vintage-style power cord and plug have been installed, and a fuse added for improved safety. My "Better Bluetooth" is available. 19"W x 11"H x 9-1/2"D.
