General Electric 10T1 "Locomotive" (1949)
(television)

General Electric 10T1 "Locomotive" (1949)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This model of Bakelite cabinet 10-inch TV by General Electric is nicknamed the "Locomotive" by TV collectors, and is one of the most sought-after sets due to its unique and attractive cabinet design. Unfortunately, many of these sets have been damaged over the years (especially the fragile Bakelite grillework for ventilation on the top of the cabinet). This one is in very nice condition. The chassis has been fully restored to work like new, with all paper and electrolytic capacitors replaced, a strong set of tubes, silicon rectifiers in place of the original seleniums, new resistors where needed, a full video and audio alignment, and a new power cord. The picture tube is excellent, with good brightness and contrast. I can advise you on suitable analog TV signal sources to use with antique TVs. Watching old black and white shows on a TV like this is a lot of fun--a recreation of the days when TV was brand new to the public. 14-3/4"H x 12"W x 20-1/4"D.
