Goodyear 741 "Wings" (1937)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Goodyear 741 "Wings" (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Goodyear sold appliances and even radios within their tire stores for decades. Back in the day, people associated tire stores with much more than just tires. Loaded with Art Deco influence from the distinctive grille, the accent stripes, wooden grooved knobs and waterfall style front. Colorful distinctive dial with an airplane style pointer really sets it off. The cabinet has been refinished using grain filler, the very finest toning and finishing lacquers, producing a gorgeous luster. All the capacitors have been replaced with modern types, out of tolerance resistors replaced, tubes checked and replaced where needed, new dial cover, new period correct grille cloth, new antenna leads installed, and a new fused polarized power cord installed. Plays nicely on the AM broadcast band and both shortwave bands, as you'd expect from a seven-tube chassis with two 6F6 tubes for push-pull audio. I have also added an audio input so you can listen to your own selected music. 19-1/2"W x 11"H x 9"D.
