(plastic tube clock radio)

Westinghouse H-711T5 Clock Radio

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This attractive powder blue radio looks very nice. This clock radio is PC board based, and uses a standard AA5 circuit which performs very well. The sensitivity of this radio is quite impressive. On most nights, it is easy with this radio to pick up KOA at 850 KHz (Denver, Co) or WGN at 720 KHz (Chicago, IL) from here in North Texas. Rather than a tuning knob mounted directly on the shaft of the main tuning capacitor, the knob controls the tuning through an interesting planetary gear reduction integral with the shaft. This makes the radio much easier to fine tune than those using a knob directly mounted to the shaft. A dial cord transfers the motion to the indicator dial above the tuning knob. The radio circuitry and the Westclox clock movement assembly have been fully serviced as described in the "What happens to a radio at Texas Radio Restoration" page. There is a small chip on the "Sleep" function knob (shown in the last photo), but it is not easily noticed and has absolutely no effect on the operation of the radio. There is some very minor chipping on the top left side of the dial cover. Again, this is not easily noticed and will not affect operation.
