Zenith 808 Tombstone (1935)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Zenith 808 Tombstone (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

The 800 series Zenith tabletop radios were unlike anything the American radio industry had produced up to 1935. They just scream "Art Deco" design, a mainstay style of the 1930's. Toss in new circuitry innovations and you have iconic radios that are still sought after 85 years after they were first produced. The 808 is a six-tube, three-band (SB,SW,Police) set. It features the new police band and a tuned RF stage. The radio has had all of the capacitors replaced, the tubes and resistors checked and replaced where needed. We installed a new power cord, an audio cable for your external device, and a safety fuse. These radios are great performers with lots of sensitivity across the dial. Gary refinished this multi-veneered beauty in a semi-gloss which I think fits the set perfectly. The radio has Walnut, Maple and Australian Laurel applied with expert workmanship. Zenith had cabinet makers that were second to none! The original knobs, grille cloth and speaker are included. This iconic radio is priced to sell, so what are you waiting for? 17"H x 12-1/2"W x 9"D.
