Emerson 104 (1935)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Emerson 104 (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Emerson manufactured hundreds of small table sets, but they did make a few consoles and larger tombstones like this beauty, the model 104. I believe this is the largest Ingraham cabinet design as well. The model 104 is an eight-tube, three-band (AM,SWx2) radio. The radio has automatic volume control, a really nice tone control and a coarse/fine precision tuner. With dual 6F6 push-pull audio and an 8-inch speaker, this radio packs a punch! The capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents. The resistors and tubes were checked and replaced where needed. A new power cord, safety fuse, antenna lead and external audio cable were installed. Gary stripped the American Walnut cabinet and refinished with his usual mastery. The final step was the application of a gorgeous lacquer "piano" finish. The knobs, chassis and speaker are original. A period-correct reproduction grille cloth was installed. Here's a chance to own one of the best performing radios Emerson made, and it's a gorgeous restoration to boot! 21"H x 16-1/2"W x 12-1/2"D.
