Climax AC-65 (1937)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Climax AC-65 (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

The Climax Radio and Television Company headquarters was located in Chicago IL. I couldn't find much info on the company, so I don't know when they started business. I have a Climax model 4, and I believe that was manufactured in 1933. That's the earliest Climax radio I could find. They later merged with General Television. I also have a General Television radio that is exactly like the Climax "angry face" radio in every way except it has a different dial. The AC-65 is a seven-tube, two-band (AM,SW) radio. We replaced all of the capacitors with new equivalents. The resistors and tubes were checked and replaced where necessary. A safety fuse, audio cable and antenna lead were installed. Gary stripped the cabinet and did his usual masterful work on the refinish. He ended up hand polishing a beautiful "piano" lacquer finish. The speaker, knobs, dial scale and chassis are original. A period-correct reproduction grille cloth was added. This rare radio is beautifully restored and is a chassis "hard to find" radio that's ready to grace your collection! 18"W x 9"H x 8"D.
