Air Castle 14-136EA (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

You are looking at a beautiful Art Deco table radio which was manufactured for Air Castle by Detrola Radio from Detroit, Michigan and were available under several names This radio was available under several names, but the Air Castle name was the house brand of Spiegel Catalog Company. These were very well engineered radios. The six-tube super-het chassis plays well on both AM and Shortwave. Note the massively oversized dial with is brightly backlit. The properly working green "magic" tuning eye winks with great sensitivity as you dial station to station and really completes the set. The cabinet is a nice refinish, with enhanced toning. The "waterfall" ends really give this unit its pizzaz! The speaker cloth is an era correct replacement and knobs appear to be factory original with embossed functionality on each. The electronics have been completely restored and it plays very nicely on both the AM and shortwave bands with short antenna wire (supplied). Nice clean chassis. This Air Castle will add value to anyone's collection. Don't miss out! 18"W x 10"H x 6-3/4"D.
