Atwater Kent 165 (1933)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Atwater Kent 165 (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a very collectible little Atwater Kent, beautifully designed cathedral radio features delicate latticework and a two-tone walnut veneer front made by that famous Philly factory in 30's. For my money, there were no better / dependable radios of this era than A-K's. Cabinet is all original finish with only very minor wear which is to be expected from a 90 year old radio--far too good to do any refinishing in my opinion. Beautiful is this classic small cathedral radio from the early depression era. It is an AC-powered five-tube superhet covering the standard broadcast & Police bands. The radio does have Tone Control with the Police bands switch. Like all the Atwater Kent cathedral radios, it is highly coveted by collectors. All new capacitors, tubes and resistors checked and replaced as needed . Grille cloth, knobs, speaker (perfect with no tears in the cone), and AK tube shields appear to be original. Cabinet is solid and has the most of the paper label inside. Radio plays quite well with short wire antenna (supplied). Power cord is new. Dial is backlit with one strong pilot light. An excellent addition to any collection! Weighs 18 pounds, 14-1/2"H x 12"W x 8"D.
