Lyric S-6 (1932)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Lyric S-6 (1932)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a seldom seen, much less offered for sale model S-6 Cathedral. Made by Wurlitzer under the Lyric Radio name, this radio shows the extreme design that made this company famous. These were seldom seen domestically and were most often exported both in 110 volts and 220 volts. This example is the domestic model, made by Wurlitzer plant in North Tonawanda, New York, and a beautiful example. The radio is in pristine factory original condition. The finish is excellent as is dial, speaker, etc. Note the very large eight-inch Rola speaker inside, which offers a roomful of sound. The cloth is repro, but era correct. This is a six-tube Super-het and completely restored electronically, replacing all caps, weak tubes and resistors. The radio plays beautifully. Very clean shiny chassis. The quality is clearly apparent, and the set is very complete including most of the factory tag on the back top of the cabinet. Absolutely beautiful scalloped arched top with metal tag on front + factory tag inside. The radio also has the most of the Wurlitzer tag on the arch, an often missing cab. This is a set for the most discriminating collector. 16-1/2"H x 13"W x 8-1/2"D.
