Truetone D2017 "Boomerang" (1950)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Truetone D2017 "Boomerang" (1950)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is the iconic Truetone "Boomerang" six-tube, AM only radio. These were sold through Western Auto stores in the day. It has the "modern" look that the Philco "Boomerang" had at the same time period. It has a dark walnut Bakelite case with no cracks, chips or hairlines. It has the original knobs, grille cloth and cardboard back. It has a built in "Stratoscope" antenna and provision for an external antenna as well. I went through this radio and replaced two IF transformers, weak tubes, caps and resistors. I replaced the AC cord with a polarized one for safety. It plays out with a nice mellow tube sound and has a light up dial. This would make a nice radio to display in your mid-century modern collection. 14-1/2"W x 8"H x 8"D.
