THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

A completely new Philco Transitone for 1941, this popular chassis would remain in production in various cabinet designs and with different model numbers for 1942 and again for a few years after WW2. This was the first and only year for this unique wood cabinet with beautiful multi grain veneers. This example sports all original finish that is still very nice save for two minor stress cracks in the veneer around the radius' on either side of the (beautiful) glass dial scale. Original grille cloth, Philco decal, and back cover too! A true time capsule from the year of infamy. A strong tested set of tubes, it has been recapped, aligned, controls cleaned/lubricated, & new line cord installed. Plays loud and strong across the dial with its massive internal wood-framed factory loop antenna. A Bluetooth/MP3 player 3.5mm cord has been installed for another listening option beyond the standard AM broadcasts.
