Airline 35GSE-1556C (1952)
(plastic tube table radio)

Airline 35GSE-1556C (1952)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

First time on Radio Attic for this Mid-Century Modern Montgomery Ward catalog radio. Simple yet elegant cabinet design, repainted in a deep teal enamel that compliments the dial color. The original grille work is a type of woven caning material often found on wood chairs. The cabinet is smooth and crack free. There are a few minor dial lamp heat-related stress cracks in the clear dial cover, but it still displays very nicely. It is a strong player too, receiving all of my local stations easily with its built-in loop antenna. The chassis has been recapped, tubes tested strong, controls cleaned & lubricated, so it plays loud and clear. 13"W x 7-3/4"H x 6-3/4"D.
