RCA 45X16 (1940)
(wood tube table radio)

RCA 45X16 (1940)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

First time on Radio Attic for this model, and what a totally unique radio it is! In all of my years of collecting and restoring antique radios, upwards of 700 radios restored, I've never encountered a table model radio with a built-in Lazy Susan turntable on the underside!! See the photos. This certainly appears to be done at the factory. I surmise it was part of the built-in loop antenna design to allow the user to easily turn the radio where it sits to aid reception. Whatever the reason behind it, it's a very cool, one-of-a-kind feature! The cabinet finish is all original save for some re-toning on the sides. It is still in beautiful condition. Even the faux woodgrain trim on the top radius is still perfect. The original back cover is still nice, the dial cover and grille cloth are original. The chassis has been gone through with all new capacitors, strong tested set of tubes, controls cleaned and lubed, new line cord. It plays loud and strong across the dial, or use the attached 3.5mm cord to play your own audio content. 12-3/4"W x 8"H x 6-1/2"D.
