Century Radio Products Unknown Model (1934)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Century Radio was a smaller factory in Chicago. They made mostly private label sets for the Chicago retail giants like Sears and Montgomery Wards. You see in the 1920s-30s a tremendous amount of business was done by catalogue sales, which like our internet selling today, could deliver a world's product to every home in America. Rural and small town America would look forward to the latest offerings and a new catalogue was a much-anticipated event. Thus became the need for contract makers of radios to fill this demand. Century was just such a company. You can clearly see how much quality was built into the cabinet and the four tube chassis is very stable and clean. The radio lights up and there is plenty of power, so with a little tweak, could be a solid player. Super clean!! Decent in size at 16-1/2"H x 14"W x 9-1/2"D.
