Philco 40-130T (1939-1940)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

If you're looking to get into antique radio on a budget, without sacrificing looks and performance, this very attractive Philco 40-130T would be a good way to do it. I think Philco hit a homer with the design of the front on this radio. The style and layout of the veneer is quite eye-catching. It is no slouch on performance either, with a very good receiver that picks up stations quite well on the internal antenna but has an antenna terminal for more distant stations. This little gem was a little beat up when I got it, with a broken back cover and a crack in the veneer on the left rear corner. I took a back cover from a later model and moved the antenna on to it. I fixed the split veneer as best I could. The gold is worn off the graphics behind three of the knobs. I replaced all of the capacitors, resistors as necessary and gave it a full alignment. It has a full set of very good tubes for years of trouble-free service. Equipped with an audio cable for your mobile devices Priced to sell! 14-1/2"W x 10-1/2"H x 8"D.
