Stromberg-Carlson 225-H (1937)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Stromberg-Carlson 225-H (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

The Stromberg-Carlson 225-H is one of the more desirable medium size table radios out there. It's almost like the SC cabinet guys went out to the wood shed and grabbed something off of every shelf. The stunning Brazilian rosewood is grain-matched from the top to the front, the first time I have ever seen this done. The sides have a maple inlay sided by oak and walnut. The striking, carved look, tulip themed speaker grille is elaborate and eye catching. I gave it a slick, gorgeous finish, maybe the best I have ever done, with only a few minor specks and flaws. No missing the trademark octagonal SC dial. The well designed chassis is an excellent performer. Sensitivity is very good and the sound from the perfect 6-inch speaker rivals the best of the table radios. The back of the chassis was rusted and marked up, so I had to paint it. All new caps, including stuffing the originals. Resistors as necessary and a full alignment. Broadcast and two shortwave bands. Requires an external antenna. This is an awesome, head turning radio that will up the class of any room with its Art Deco design and excellent sound. 16"W x 9-1/2"H x 9"D; 17 lbs.
