THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is an unusual post-war six tube radio from John Meck Industries of Plymouth, Indiana. The November 1946 edition of Radio and Television Retailing described this radio as follows. "Model 6A6 table radio with new 'Sensitone' feature, allowing user to adjust set for local noise conditions. Acoustic compensator permits adjustment of bas note reproduction. Both these 'Tone' and 'Gain' controls indicated on back of set and do not require resetting, once adjusted. Illuminated 8-1/2-inch slide rule dial, 6-inch oval speaker. Six tubes including rectifier. Built in loop antenna with with primary turn for connection to external antenna and ground." The case exterior has been stripped and professionally refinished. The inside of the case has been thoroughly cleaned and painted black. Brand new grille cloth has been added. All of the capacitors and all out of tolerance resistors have been replaced with modern equivalents. The original knobs are present. This radio sounds great and receives stations strong across the dial.
